Christchurch is one of only five gateway cities to the Antarctic in the world and The Antarctic Office is responsible for implementing Christchurch’s Antarctic Gateway Strategy with local and national partners. This video marked the opening of the 2017 Season, realising the continent’s economic, community, cultural, scientific and environmental significance to Christchurch and the world, and how different stakeholders need to come together to protect it.
